Leave Policies
Taking a leave is right of the employee much as it is equally important to follow proper process before proceeding on leave so that the functioning of the school is not affected.
Any approved leave shall have to backed by a leave application signed and approved, along with any supporting document.
1- Short term - casual leave - Leave applications upto 2 days in a month are considered short term or casual leaves and can be approved by School Academic head in consultation with school administrator (both)
This approval shall be on account of valid reasons- sickness, personal work, bereavement of immediate relatives only. Absconding or no communication should not be the reason of approval.
2- Long term leave - Any leave beyond two days a term shall be long term, anyone who is absent for more than 2 days or wants to take leave beyond 2 days must visit network academic support manager ,who will then guide on next steps after physical audience.
3- Sick leave - Sick leave cases are paid but must be backed by medical documentation. Frequent sick leaves will affect the academic interests of the students , hence must be taken for a serious consideration and discussion and must be treated as leaves of more than 2 days and referred to academic support manager.
4- Maternity leaves - Maternity leaves must be applied at least 3 months (1 trimester ) in advance and it is responsibility of the employee to get their leaves approved ( which are automatic when supporting document are available) , Emergencies are recognized as long as leaves are approved in prior. Uninformed or no notice leaves disturbs instructional and academic plan and therefore such situations be avoided . Any employee returning after maternity starts with academic support team , for appropriate placement or reassignment as maybe the need.
5- Leaves of absence - Signing in attendance resister of the school is key for record keeping for payroll. Therefore unsigned names shall be considered as abscondment or dereliction of duty and will be considered as unpaid leave, unless a justification is received and accepted at the time of monthly attendance reconciliation.
