EMPLOYEE CODE OF CONDUCT

Dream Africa Schools Network - Employee code of conduct is a manifestation of THE EDUCATION SERVICE ACT, 2002 (Act No. 13 of 2002), The Education Service (Teachers’ Professional Code of Conduct).

1.       LEAVE

·       Leaves upto 2 days are approved by HM in consultation with the School Administrator as per policy.

·       Leaves more than 2 days are approved by Head Office – HR

·       All leave applications must be approved after receiving a written application, any emergency leaves taken without an application must be backed up by an application and supporting documentation.

·       All staff are to report to head office after returning from long leaves.

2.       ATTENDANCE AND WORK HOURS

·       Staff attendance is sent online to head office at 8 am. There fore all must sign the attendance register available at the school office before the report is sent.

·       All staff ae expected to be at school by 7 am and leave not later than 5 PM. The report out time on Saturdays shall be 12.30 PM.

·       Any staff reporting after 8 am is marked late.

·       Any staff whose signature is missing from the attendance register shall be considered absent without approval and will be dealt with prevailing policies.

·       Administration staff including HM /Incharge must stay back until the last child is picked up.

·       Administrative staff must have positive confirmation for pick and drop of children for transport before calling it a day.

·       Student registers are signed by the class teachers, administration, and school Incharge and sent every day online by 10 am.

·       Meals and Transport registers are signed every day in prescribed format. Unsigned registers will be considered dereliction of duty and will be dealt with accordingly.

·       Staff may be required to work for additional hours on special occasions like visitation or any such day as will be communicated by management.

3.       USAGE OF MOBILES IN WORK HOURS

·       Mobile phones are not allowed during work hours from 8 am to 4 PM. 

·       All staff are to keep the phone in their safes, bags, or school office in switched off mode.

·       School Administrators will be allowed to use their phone due to the nature of their work.

·       Any emergencies can be conducted through school administration.

4.       PARENTAL COMMUNICATION

·       Staff are prohibited from discussing internal matters of school, whatsoever it may be with parents.

·       Students’ progress checks shall be on visitation, any other meetings shall be organized under supervision of Director of studies, Head teacher of School Administration.

5.       RELATIONSHIPS 

·       No relationships between staff are allowed.

·       Any sexual advances with a staff or student shall result in termination.

·       If you are wedded / related you can be placed in different campus.

6.       ATTIRE & ALCHOLISM

·       All staff are expected to be professionally always dressed and presentable.

·       Any staff reported to not to be sober on the campus shall be asked to leave and disciplinary action shall follow.

·       Corporal punishment at the network is banned and shall result in termination.
